A Glittering End to 2023

As part of the bi-annual Folkingham Christmas Tree Festival in 2023 The Aveland History Group entered a decorated Christmas tree. To promote the use of the Aveland Archive we set up a Festive Quiz. Whilst we didn’t win the prize for the “best in show” the quiz proved to be a hit, with many enries both on the day and beyond. So to see what we did, and to maybe have a go yourself, here are the details (though the Christmas Tree Clues will have to wait till the next festival in 2025)

The Aveland Archive has prepared this dastardly quiz to get addled minds whirring.
On the enclosed leaflet there are two clues to help you identify nine of our local villages. Find the names of each village, then take the first letter of each one and rearrange to come up with a 9-letter festive word. For an additional fabulous mystery prize – which village is the odd one out?

The competition was won by one of our members in Kirkby Underwood and a Book Token winged it’s way to her in the New Year.
